THE GRAN TURISMO® CHALLENGE CONTEST RULES
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, contestants must have a PLAYSTATION® 3 system (“PS3™), a copy of Gran Turismo® 5 Prologue and a valid PlayStation®Network account. Contest begins October 20, 2008 6:00pm PST and ends November 2, 11:59 PST (“Promotional Period”). You may enter as many times as you wish. To be valid, all contestants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
All eligible contestants will insert a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue into the PS3 system and launch the game. Select “Online” and then select “Tanner Foust Racing Competition”. The competition will default to the London City Track using the Nissan Fairlady Z car with professional driving physics. The competition will be a Time Trial event. The top three (3) lap times will be selected as winners. The fastest time will be selected as the Grand Prize Winner with the second fastest selected as Second Place winner and third fastest as Third Place winner. In the event of a tie, a panel of video game professionals will review the race replays and select a winner from the cleanest lap, best cornering and no sliding on walls, etc. Leaderboards will be made available during and after the Promotional Period.
Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (the “Sponsor”) is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit an entrant’s ability to participate in the contest. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify, cancel or suspend this Contest should disruptions, interruptions, hardware or software malfunctions, data loss or corruption, a virus, bugs or any other cause beyond Sponsor’s control compromise or corrupt the administration, security or proper play of this Contest. If the Contest is cancelled for any reason, winners will be selected from among all entries received prior to cancellation. Entries not satisfying these Official Rules will be automatically disqualified.
2. PRIZES:
One Grand Prize: Grand Prize package will be awarded to the contestant with the fastest lap time. Prize package includes Roundtrip airfare to Long Beach, CA on Friday November 14, 2008, two (2) night double-occupancy hotel accommodations for winner and guest. Return airfare on November 16, 2008. (Approximate retail value $3,000.00). Contestant’s Prize will be forfeited if winner is unable to travel during designated time period. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability. All expenses and incidental travel costs not expressly stated in the package description above, including but not limited to, ground transportation, meals, incidentals, passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, service charges or facility charges, personal charges at lodging, security fees, taxes or other expenses are the sole responsibility of winner. If in the judgment of Sponsor, air travel is not required due to winner's proximity to prize location, ground transportation will be substituted for roundtrip air travel at Sponsors' sole discretion.
Second Place Prize: Prize awarded to second fastest lap time winner. Second Place winner receives by mail, Autographed Tanner Foust GT5 Prologue, Autographed Tanner Foust Poster and Gran Turismo T-shirt. Approximate retail value, seventy ($70.00) dollars
Third Place Prize: Prize awarded to third fastest lap time winner. Third Place winner receives by mail, Autographed Tanner Foust GT5 Prologue, Autographed Tanner Foust Poster and Gran Turismo T-shirt. Approximate retail value, seventy ($70.00) dollars
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value if prize is unavailable. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitutions are allowed. Please allow 8 weeks for delivery of prizes and/or travel documentation.
3. WINNER(S):
Grand Prize winner will be the contestant who achieves the fastest lap time as recorded by Sponsor during the entire Promotional Period. Second and Third Place prize winners will be the contestant who achieved the second and third fastest lap times respectively throughout the entire Promotional Period. In the event of a tie, a panel of video game professionals will review the race replays and determine who had the cleanest lap, which includes factors like best cornering and no sliding on walls, etc. Leaderboards will be made available during and after the Promotional Period.
All decisions regarding all matters of this Contest are at Sponsor’s discretion and are final and binding.
4. ELIGIBILITY: Contest open to legal U.S. residents, who are 18 years of age or older. Winner(s) and guest will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release within seven (7) days of receipt. Grand Prize winner will be required to sign a waiver of liability and responsibility to participate to participate in the Tanner Foust Ride Along. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Failure to return Affidavit of Eligibility and Release within 7 days of receipt will result in forfeiture of entire prize pack. An alternate winner will be selected among remaining eligible entrants. In addition, all contestants will be required to sign an Image Release. All unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. No tickets or other travel documentation will be issued in the name of any person who has not signed a release. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen tickets, travel vouchers or certificates. Prize is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash. No substitution for the prize by the winner will be allowed. If necessary, due to unavailability of the prize for any reason, a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Sponsors. All Federal, state and local tax liabilities are the responsibility of the winner. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited) for the Sponsors to use the winner’s name, likeness, biography, statements, and any other similar materials for marketing, promotional and publicity purposes without additional compensation or any limitation. Employees of the Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in this Contest. Neither the Sponsors nor its affiliates, subsidiaries, division or related companies are responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses that winners might incur as result of this sweepstakes or receipt of prize.
Additionally, winner agrees to release Sponsor and their respective parents, subsidiaries, agencies, divisions, and affiliates from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in the Contest, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Contest-related activity and claims based on publicity rights, copyright/trademark infringement, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. Neither the Sponsor nor its affiliates, subsidiaries, division or related companies, event administrator are responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses that winners may incur as a result of this contest or receipt of prize.
5. WINNER’S NAME: To obtain a list of winners send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: “The Gran Turismo® Challenge Contest” Winners List, c/o Promotions Dept. 919 E. Hillsdale Blvd 2nd Floor Foster City, CA 94404. Winners list requests will be fulfilled within four weeks after all prizes have been awarded. Requests for winners list must be received no later than November 31, 2008.
