Ryu and the gang are claiming some new turf, as Capcom today has shipped the first PSP game in its flagship fighting franchise. Originally released in arcades six years ago, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max arrives on Sony's portable with more than 30 characters and a handful of new features.

In addition to the standard arcade mode, there's a new Variable Battle mode for 2-on-1 battles with fighters tagging out mid-match, a World Tour mode in which players gain experience as they complete battles with a variety of stipulations, Survival mode, Final Battle mode (cut straight to the last boss battle), and Dramatic Battle mode (which is like Variable Battle, only with all three fighters on screen at all times). The game also adds a new fighter to the Alpha mix in the form of Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Evolution.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max is rated T for Teen and retails for $39.99. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's full review.
