SCEA and Incognito Entertainment took some time near the end of Sony's E3 press conference to once again show a game that a lot of gamers have been eagerly awaiting; Warhawk. A remake of the original PlayStation title, Warhawk offers players games a chance to experience the thrill of white-knuckle aerial combat with hundreds of enemy fighters and assaults from the air, ground and sea. In Warhawk, players are tasked with protecting their homeland from an invasion by the hands of the Chernovan armada. In order to protect their homeland, players wil have to take command of the Warhawk, the most advaned war machine in the fleet to take out the enemy. In addition, players will also continue the battle on foot with a multitude of weapons, as well as controlling ground vehicles, such as jeeps, tanks and transports. Incognito promises a deep single player campaign, not to mention a fun and unpredictable online mode for gamers to explore. Online play will support up to 32 players with downloadable content and a variety of game modes promised. Warhawk's demo came right at the end of the conference, just after Ken Kutaragi and Phil Harrison had revealed that the next iteration of the Dual Shock controller would be losing its shock, but gain a tilt sensor. Producer/Director Dylan Jobe demonstrated this by using the tilt sensor to guide the Warhawk into battle against two capital ships. The controls seemed a little frentic at times, but it looked like it was a lot of fun. Jobe finished off the demo by successfully landing on a launching pad. We'll have more on this game as more information becomes available!
