The mushroom caves are where Rynn can complete the quest to Rescue the Farmer's Wife.  They are located along the northern edge of Surdana, west of the entrance to Shadowmire.  Rynn can find the Bitter Touch shortly after entereing the caves.  Turn right when Rynn enters the first large cavern, and follow the path that leads down to the water.  Wade across the water to reach the mushrooms that glow with a soft, 
blue light.  The Bitter Touch is behind these glowing mushrooms.  Collect it to get an Armor Piercing short sword that Rynn can use at the beginning of the game.  There is also a Potion of Life

on the mushroom-covered island nearby.  Look for it next to a skeleton.  


 


There is a cave in eastern Surdana where dwells the largest, most ferocious chicken in all the land. Parents tell stories of the fowl beast to frighten their naughty children before bedtime.  You'll find its lair in a cave at
ground level, to the east of Surdana city. It's near the river that leads southeast to Kragmar. The cave is not large enough for Arokh to fit , so Rynn must go inside alone. The

chicken is large, and it's oversized beak makes for a deadly weapon. Lucky for Rynn, the chicken isn't quite smart enough to chase her down if she shoots it with arrows or zaps it with spells. Kill the big chicken to get the golden egg, which is worth 1000 gold pieces.
