There are four elemental swords hidden in the world of Drakan. Elemental swords are usable by Rynn without increasing her Melee skill level. Characters who specialize in Archery or Magic would be wise to hunt these weapons down.

Elemental Magic
Each sword possess different elemental magic attack that's used by pressing . Note that Rynn cannot use an enchanted weapon's magic while she has a shield equipped. Each sword's elemental magic may be used a maximum of ten time, as shown in the Mana meter in the lower, right-hand corner of the screen.

The first elemental blade Rynn can collect is the Earth Sword. It is found in Shadowmire, but Rynn must perform certain steps before she can collect it. There is no way to return to Shadowmire, so Rynn must collect the Earth Sword during her first visit there.

The first step is to speak to Sir Nichols on the path that Rynn climbs after her first encounter with spear traps in Shadowmire. Look for him on the left side of the path, standing in front of a crumbling wall. Speaking to Nichols here will ensure that he appears again later.

The second step takes place shortly after Rynn uses a blasting pot to demolish a wall that blocks her way. Proceed to the room where there are four red pillars, one of which lies fallen on the floor. Go through the center, arched doorway to find two jail cells downstairs. If you spoke to Nichols the braggart earlier, then he will be in one of these cells. Press to release him by pulling the nearby switch.

The third step takes place after Rynn lands in the water below the collapsing bridge. She must smite four spell-casting trogs before they can harm Sir Nichols. He will be so grateful for the rescue that he'll give Rynn a book that can be used to get a magic sword. Rynn will not get the book if her bag is full when she talks to Nichols.
