Won't work in many PS 2 models ours is (SCPH-70012)

There are obviously some serious issues with the PS2 version of this game. Ranging from working great on some models of the PS2 , taking 5-10 minutes to load between differnt sets and even a 3-4 minutes for each song, to not loading at all.
This is extremely disapointing that Sony would put the playstation 2 name on something that may or may not work on the system you have. WE have the black slim SCPH-70012
Once you have a song going, it is a lot of fun. A few songs (The Joker and Eye of the Tiger, were not in sync properly. I had to turn the volume on the TV down so I could get passed the song without failing.
This was our Kids big Christmas present and so far, we have returned one disc thinking we had a faulty disc. One wasted day at the mall. Then we spent another day in the crowds again trying to tell the manager at Game Stop what was going on. I think we will be returning it. But hey, our drums worked great!! I thought that was going to be the problem.
