Match Strategies - cont.Royal Rumble A total of 30 participants enter the ring, though not all at once. It begins with a few combatants and additional superstars enter after certain intervals. The goal is to be the last man or woman in the ring. Should you be tossed out of the ring at any point, you're out of the Royal Rumble. Surviving a Royal Rumble against 29 computer-controlled superstars isn't an easy task. Certainly it gets easier the closer you are to participant 30; by that time most of the superstars will have already been eliminated. Irish whipping at the ropes is your maneuver of choice here. Grapple your opponent close to the ropes and perform the Irish whip maneuver to send them over the rope. Should they try and hang on, give them a couple strikes to knock them off. But standing near the ropes is dangerous. Your opponents are very adept at the same move.
Handicap and Elimination Chamber There are several match types when you're outnumbered (such as Triple Threat, Fatal 4-Way, and the Handicap variations) so it'll be important to avoid getting double-teamed (or worse) and pick your battles when inflicting damage on your opponents. Hit and run techniques work well, especially if you're getting pummeled every time you try and hang around and perform multiple moves in succession. Don't hesitate to hang back and let your opponents inflict damage to each other then move in for a big strike or move when an opportunity presents itself.
The Elimination Chamber is a six superstar elimination event. Two superstars begin the match while four others are each in chambers. Every 60 seconds, a new superstar is released from his or her chamber and enters the match. Outlast and defeat all opponents to achieve victory. Avoid getting blasted by multiple opponents. Hang outside the ring and wait for an opponent to come to you. Pinfalls count anywhere and you can whip your opponents into the chambers to bring the pain.
Ladder, Tables, and TLC There are several match modes available where ladders, tables, and chairs (or all three!) play a role. In a Ladder match, a belt is suspended above the ring. You must set up the Ladder underneath the belt then climb the ladder and successfully grab the belt to win the match. Don't forget you can use the ladder as a weapon. Pick it up and pound your opponent with the ladder before setting it up in the ring's center. Crack a finisher on your opponent outside the ring to give you time to get onto the ladder and grab the belt.
In a table match, you must set up a table and send your opponent through the table to win the match. You could also send them up against the table in a turnbuckle then crack a chair on their back a few times to possibly break the table.
A TLC match is a tables, ladders, and chairs match. All three can be used as weapons and you must set up the ladder in the ring center to reach the belt hanging up overhead. Weapons are your friend here. Make sure to keep your opponents down with a thorough beating. And watch the ring center carefully and be ready to push that ladder over if your opponent makes a climb for the belt.
Hell in a Cell The Hell in a Cell match is similar to a cage match; however, combatants can climb on top of the cell and battle there. Additionally, the top of the cell can break; just slam your opponent into top sections until they break. You can also perform grapples around the cage edge, such as rubbing your opponent's face into the cage. Falling damage is extremely painful to you and your opponents. Toss your opponent off the cage top. While your opponent lies on the ground below, come off the cage top with a flying elbow.
