Great Game but Online Sucks!!!!

by ArikBanjo96 Nov 5, 2009, 2:59 PM PST

I was so looking forward to getting this game just so I could play online! I am so dissappointed in how choppy the game play is! I wish I could get my money back. How can COD Online be so fluid and MLB 09 suck so bad?

more than just a great baseball game, it's a great game period!

by steviemanic Oct 30, 2009, 11:36 PM PDT

all i need to say is that this game is pure fun. if you follow baseball at all you will notice the little things that the pros do are in this game. when i was a kid i used to mimic the major leaguers when i played with my friends. Mlb 09 the show is just like that without the physical activity. year in and year out The Show is THE baseball game.

RTTS base running horrible

by b_rho84 Oct 30, 2009, 9:10 PM PDT

I love the game overall, but my main gripe is with the RTTS base running. It needs to be fixed badly, the way it changes the camera totally messes you up, why can't I just hold forward and still run to the next base? Also it's kind of annoying how the player seems to slow down a lot when rounding a bag and sometimes on steal attempts. That said the game is still great and already can't wait for next years.

PS-I think adding a feature where you can call pitches as a catcher in RTTS mode would be freaking awesome

Awesome Presentation... Horrible Base Running Controls and Horri

by bigeyedphish23 Oct 28, 2009, 11:34 PM PDT

This game really impressed me with it's presentation, but I am VERY HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in the Base running controls and also how I can never seem to hit the ball when batting. I am an above average gamer that has been playing games since Atari came out. I have had all the systems from Sega to Nintendo to Dreamcast and PSONE to Xbox and Xbox360, they made I bought it. I am very very good at baseball and MLB 09 on Xbox360. I bought this game for PSP and PS3 and I wish I could take them back. This game is crap when it comes to controlling your batter or your runner. They need to do something about this. I absolutely hate that when I am running from first to second and the screen changes and all of sudden I am running back to first. Seriously!! Did you guys even test this game before you started making millions of these? You seriously need to start listening to the consumer when it comes to options. Why change something if it works? I can see being innovative on controls but whoever approved the controls of base running should be fired and black listed from making any games in the future cause he/she is an idiot!!!

I have said my peace now I am going to break some controllers!!

Good Overall, Some Suggestions

by phils26 Oct 23, 2009, 7:26 PM PDT

The game has tremendous graphics but lacks some important parts of the baseball game. The baserunning and throwing system is terrible. The game does not illustrate collisions of the players. The game does show highlights at the end of the game, which is a neat addition. There is definitely an improvement in the franchise mode with the expansion to 40 player rosters. There is certainly room for improvement with suggestions listed below.

Here are some suggestions for additions to future games:
1. rainouts/ suspended games and different weather scenarios
2. balks
3. manager arguments and ejections
4 pre-game and post-game show
5. collisions
6. batting practice
7. fan camera
8. Triple- A stadiums
9. deeper franchise mode with management of ticket prices, etc.
10. Home-run derby for all-star game
