Good game but needs some upgrades.

by cardsfan0587 Nov 16, 2009, 9:03 PM PST

This game has a lot going for it but I have a few suggestions for next year:
1. Better collision detection
2. More in depth RTTS such as creating a personality with media interviews or more interaction options (i believe madden did something like this) and allow the player to buy stuff with the money earned
3. in franchise mode allow for contract extnesions mid-season
4. pitching training in RTTS and a pick off move attribute
5. complete overhaul of baserunning controls
6. allowing the player to decide to argue instead of computer
7. better commentating
8. better recognition of prospects (franchise mode some of the top prospects in baseball are missing)
9. like picaflare said your number 1 starter should be able to pitch on short rest in the playoffs in big games.
10. everyone in the game has the green light on 3-0 even pitchers
11. more in depth free agency in franchise for example: nba live 10 makes you try to appeal to what you think the player would want most like money starting job or chance at a world series

player custom music

by connvict72 Nov 15, 2009, 10:23 AM PST

great game...love the custom player entrance music option, but it would be better if the custom music could be used/heard during online play and if there was a way to default or randomize which (of my songs) play for the other teams, instead of having to edit each individual player in the league which would take forever. also SP entrance music should play in the beginning as the teams are warming up before the game. also, during online play, it would be nice to be able to pitch from the view behind the pitcher instead of only from the catchers view

The Game is excellent, but I only ask for a couple BIG CHANGES

by picaflare Nov 13, 2009, 2:31 PM PST

When I bought my first game of MLB 07 the show, the amount of money I received as the best pitcher in MLB was too low. I bought 09, and that problem was fixed very well.

This game provides so much reality, and the best thing is that it can only get better, because it hasn't gotten worse from the past years. Although this game is really good, I do have a complaint I hope will be taken into consideration for the 2010 version.

In the pitching mode for RTTS, I was classified as the Ace of the pitching staff, and rightfully so being that I win just as much or more than anyone in baseball, I am literally (stat wise) the best and I am worth a lot of money, but what has bothered me is the fact that becoming the Ace starting pitcher doesn't mean much in any of the MLB games, and what I mean is the following:

1. Ace starting pitchers works on opening day.
2. Can make mistakes during spring training and not lose Ace role, as long as he proves greatness.
3. He is the person who saves the season and allows the team to make the playoffs (meaning that if the team needs one more win to make it to the playoffs and the Ace pitcher started 3 days ago and is in well enough rest to start on 3 days rest to clinch the playoff berth, than it should happen!!! Instead of giving it to the next pitcher in the rotation)
4. Do what any team in baseball would do if they are in breach of elimination in the playoffs, send their number 1 starter out their on maybe 3-4 days rest, or when needed, instead of allowing the 4th or 5th pitcher of the rotation to pitch in game 7 when the Ace pitcher is on about 3-4 days rest (in fact even on 2 days rest if the energy bar is good to go).

Out of all of those, the only ones used is the first 2, and the most exciting ones aren't. I can't stress enough how bad it is to lose when there is no need to, especially since I cannot pitch with the pitcher on that day because it is my career and I am not allowed to use the other pitchers.

A solution could be placing an option that allows to ask the manager to allow you to pitch on that request, but only allow those requests on very important games. this option could come up in the same place where you can choose to make your manager after being taken out of game. It does make the make more exciting and it allows the user to feel that pressure, and shows that A TRUE ACE EXISTS!!!

Thank you so much for hearing my concern, please take a minute to read my review and take into strong considerations.

Great Game but Online Sucks!!!!

by ArikBanjo96 Nov 5, 2009, 2:59 PM PST

I was so looking forward to getting this game just so I could play online! I am so dissappointed in how choppy the game play is! I wish I could get my money back. How can COD Online be so fluid and MLB 09 suck so bad?

more than just a great baseball game, it's a great game period!

by steviemanic Oct 30, 2009, 11:36 PM PDT

all i need to say is that this game is pure fun. if you follow baseball at all you will notice the little things that the pros do are in this game. when i was a kid i used to mimic the major leaguers when i played with my friends. Mlb 09 the show is just like that without the physical activity. year in and year out The Show is THE baseball game.
