Description

PAIN boldly tackles a rarely explored area of video-gaming... comedy. The unique mechanic of the game allows the player to load a character into a human-sized, ultra-powerful slingshot, and fire the character into an active, physics-controlled environment, filled with precarious and humorous situations. Players receive points by stringing together painful collisions and inducing chaos in the environment.

A Party Game That's Fun In Short Bursts...

by Amir29 Nov 29 2008 05:08 PM

PAIN was promoted as a fun and comical PSN game that will keep you laughing and entertained. Though I agree that it is humorous and fun, you'll find that playing this can get quite boring after an hour or so.

At it's base the game will cost you $9.99. This will give you the one board to play with and a VERY short list of characters. Additional characters will cost you $0.99 and additional boards will cost you $5.99. If these updates were free, I may have given this game an extra half star for some added replay value. But, when you see this game not being played for months, you tend to think whether paying for an update is truly worth it.

A game like this could have benefitted greatly when they began supporting trophies. Unfortunately, they've given such a short list of trophies that are extremely difficult to attain, you feel more frustrated and bored realizing the amount of patience they will require.

In the end, PAIN has the potential to be a fun game. But, in the end no matter how great a game is, how much fun can it be when you can only play the same three levels over and over and over again?

This game looks good and characters react to the enviroment really good. There are add-ons that you can buy like stages, but WHY do you have to buy the characters, why can't you just unlock them! Overall its a little below average,
Ps. you get trophies
