Great party game, even better drinking game

Pain is a game where you launch your character into stuff for points. It's a simple concept that's done well and has been constantly refined. The new patches have added quicker loading, online multiplayer, custom music support, trophies (which some people care about WAY too much), Fun with Explosives mode, new characters and more.
At first I wasn't too into it and felt a bit ripped off paying $10 for it when it first came out. But since then I've definitely warmed up to it (the updates have helped a lot), even if they really only give you the base game and a couple characters. There's a lot of extra stuff to buy that I haven't picked up, because I've been entertained by the main modes and though I'm usually against buying characters, purchasing Kenneth (a fat guy with a cape and helmet) made the game much more fun.
There's a lot of modes that keep you coming back like bowling and mime toss, where you have to grab a mine and throw him into panes of glass. There's one level that you start with and it gets another view as a destroyed version, so that adds some variety. I haven't bought the other two levels yet, but I will because I genuinely enjoy the game. So you can launch your character all across the map and grab onto things and throw things since it's physics based. Plus there's explosions and an Ooch meter, which lets you get a boost by using the d-pad, which is something that is not easy to master.
If you actually want to play games and don't JUST care about trophies like 9! of the 10 people (c'mon people they don't do ANYTHING) who reviewed it before me, then you'll probably have fun. Besides, the game must be awful just grinding for trophies, but playing a lot with friends is how they were intended to be earned. The game is much better after you've bought extra things, but even with the base game it's a unique treat with a small learning curve that will keep you coming back. Plus the Pain Labs presents a new type of game level/mode every week, whether it be launching into rows and rows of explosives or just grabbing onto a Tilt-a-Whirl swing contraption. So put on your favorite album, get a couple friends together with some beers (make sure they have the hang of it before you start drinking!) and play bowling as you try and screw each other's shots up.
