Rock Band 2 HDTV Compatibility Problem (revised)

by airbendr11 Aug 11, 2009, 3:05 PM PDT

Okay, I've played this game at my friend's house and LOVE it. I wanted to get it for myself. I have an 80GB PS3 and a 50" High Definition TV, putting out 1080p. I did not open this game yet. i got home from the game store and when I looked at the back of the case, it says "Supported HD video output: 720p. Does this mean I can't play it at all? (I NEED YOUR ANSWER, CLICK YES ON THE BOTTOM IF IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO PLAY ON MY TV, CLICK NO IF IT'S POSSIBLE. THANK YOU!)

Better on PS3 - another edited message

by ExpertGuitarHero Aug 9, 2009, 9:30 AM PDT

I would recommend anyone who has a PS2 to get a PS3 because they will be missing out on tons of DLCs. I have a Wii and my Wi-Fi isn't working, so I've probably missed about 2,000 DLCs (about 700 from RB/RB2 and 1,300 from GH3/GH4) I've played this on 360 at GameStop and the graphics are practically 1,000,000x better than on the Wii. (I'm just exaggerating!) Also, if there's a fee to put RB songs in RB2, it's worth it {especially when there's better graphics in RB2} Although the ION drums at GameStop cost about $300, it's worth buying if you plan to 100% every song in RB/RB2. (as well as the DLCs) [to PUNkk4] Is it okay if I add you when I get a PS3? - it'll be in Summer 2010
If so, awesome. My PSN ID is ExpertGuitarHero.[to everyone] I like the RB2's and GH5's interface the most. By the way, if anyone's wondering why I put the GH5's interface as one of my favorites, it's because I went on Gamespot and found some snapshots for GH5 on PS3 that looked as simplified as RB2's - however you can still know your note streaks. I much prefer RB2 though because I can beat every song on Expert whereas GH3 and GH4, I can't do Through the Fire and Flames and Satch Boogie on Expert. The only reason there would be for buying GH4 or any game after that is that you can create your own songs as well as the new guitar/bass features and techniques. In conclusion, all fans of Rhythm/Music games should get RB2. If you would like to be friends with me, add me and we'll be rocking 24/7! (Not really 24/7) {I wonder if there will be a RB3} Oh, and once again, I'm getting a PS3 in Summer 2010. Here are some DLCs I'd recommend to get: Constant Motion: Dream Theater
Stricken: Disturbed
Iron Maiden: Flight 666 Rock Band Edition
My Curse: Killswitch Engage
Disturbed Track Pack 01
Stricken: Disturbed
Stupify: Disturbed
Don't Stop Believing: Journey
Are You Gonna Go My Way: Lenny Kravitz
Futures: Jimmy Eat World
Metallica Track Pack 01
Afterlife: Avenged Sevenfold
Critical Acclaim: Avenged Sevenfold
That's all the DLCs I can name.

The ultimate solo or party game!

by BurningStarXXIV Jun 30, 2009, 12:44 PM PDT

Whether you like to play this alone or with more than one person offline or online, this is the game to go for rhythm game fans. World Tour is bland compared to this. Everything is pretty much revamped from the first(except for the visuals. They are still the same). Come 84 on the disc or 104 if you bought the special edition. Add more songs by buying DLC.

DLC I've bought:

Iron Maiden: Flight 666 Rock Band Edition
My Curse - Killswitch Engage
Disturbed Track Pack 01
Stricken - Disturbed
Stupify - Disturbed
Don't Stop Believing - Journey
Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz
Futures - Jimmy Eat World
Metallica Track Pack 01
Afterlife - Avenged Sevenfold
Critical Acclaim - Avenged Sevenfold

Awesome

Definite buy. Huge library of GOOD songs. No fail mode is great with inexperienced friends. ION drums are an awesome addition if you're into drumming.

I got world tour along with this - that was a complete disappointment. Visually Rock band 2 is waaaay better. The gameplay is also a lot more fun in Rockband 2 - it feels like you're really rocking and not just playing with plastic instruments.

Best Music Game Period

by Ralphy5000 Mar 31, 2009, 2:42 PM PDT

World Tour just doesn't come close. The library of songs available to play is sheer amazing. It keeps growing each week. Great party game. Grab your controller and some friends and rock out until the wee hours in the morning (or at least until you pass out) ;-)
