One of the Greatest has Returned

by KINGDAVID700 Oct 30, 2009, 9:00 PM PDT

Simply one of the best fighters out there, my only gripe is the poor online experience. The connections are horrible most of the time and trying to set up a match with a friend is a huge chore.

Best used with X-Arcade!

by mikeysaur65 Oct 26, 2009, 10:48 AM PDT

Speaking as a big fan of the 2D fighting arcade genre, my biggest problem is not with CAPCOM games, but with the console's controller, which I do not recommend using for most fighting games. A couple of years ago I purchased the X-Arcade stick for my Dreamcast to get more mileage out of such titles as Capcom vs. SNK 2, Project Justice, etc. because of the same problem with the DC controller. Maybe it's just me, but I have a hell of a time pulling off certain moves using the skimpy D or analog pads. If you want ENHANCED GAMEPLAY for Street Fighter IV, I suggest going on eBay and getting a real arcade joystick—an X-Arcade stick with the appropriate PS adapters.

It never gets old.

by gameman15 Sep 24, 2009, 7:13 PM PDT

Back in the late 80's, Street Fighter made it's first arrival. It was made by Capcom that makes pretty great games like Mega Man and Resident Evil. It's a classic, and I'm serious. When it comes to the next-gen era, It revolutionized everything. The graphics look pretty nice. The gameplay is the same thing as the other Street Fighter games. The controls are great. I was hoping that Capcom never change the old classic gameplay of these games. Overall, the Street Fighter franchise never gets old.

It's 2D Fighting at its Best

by Rokkafellah10 Sep 20, 2009, 12:59 AM PDT

Street Fighter IV is a masterpeice of a game, combining nostalgia for classic Street Figther players and a bright and vibrant world to new-comers. Either way, there's a new challenge ahead for all. This game is very hard to get into and it's quite a challenge to play. The graphics are some of the best I've seen and the animation flows like a painting. The fighting mechanics make all of the characters almost equal in all respects. One thing I would've liked to see would be a more robust story-mode. You see the cutscenes at the beginning and end of any character's arcade and their rival cutscene and that's it. I still have a lot to learn and you won't really ever stop. This game deserves you full attention, or you will struggle to be successful.

Horrible, simply Horrible

by taker-77 Sep 19, 2009, 1:44 PM PDT

What the hell is wrong with Capcom? This game is the most godawful piece of crap I have ever played. The controller are sluggish and the combos only work when the want to. Also, in the age of the next-gen consoles Streetfighter feature a 2d visual style and cartoony pastel-like graphic. Capcom should be ashamed.

This game is Fire with a Few Exceptions

by JolioSoFresh Aug 27, 2009, 12:26 AM PDT

It takes some time to really appreciate this game for what it's truly worth and to see what the creators were really going for. I initially didn't like the game for it's timing, but after applying myself I found this game is so much better than most people say. The online speed is the best I've ever seen in a 2player fighter. I'm a big Tekken and SoCal fan, but they're online speed is garbage compared to StreetFighter's. Stringing together combos isn't as easy as most fighter games either because you have to be extremely precise with your timing, so you gotta respect that and the the players online who do them on the regular. I love all the trophies it has to offer, with the exception of the one requiring you to beat Gouken on hard, performing a brain transplant would be easier. My wishlist for Streetfighter 5 would be to add more supermoves. Two super moves for each character that are similar watered down alot of strong people. Akuma had 4 super moves back in the day!! I also wish the creators would have implemented more of the original music into the stages. One real problem I do have with this game is the Anime Cutscenes. Now the opening scene is FIRE!!! Apparently the crew who worked on the opening had the day off when the anime scenes were made. The only other problem I have with this game is connecting a match online. It gets discouraging when you spend a significant amount of time reading " Unable to join match, search again? " and " No matches were found ". But once you do connect, everythings good to go.

To everyone who has anything bad to say about the gameplay, take a second to look up Tournaments held in Japan on youtube and see how this game is REALLY suppose to be played. THEN try and say this game is weak!!!

A very deep fighting game thats held back by certain issues

by Pretender2545 Aug 20, 2009, 6:30 PM PDT

Well, Street Fighter 4 is finally sunken in to the critics and players alike. I enjoy the title very much. It has a ton of depth and is easy to play to noobs and experts alike. Characters like Gen and Cammy are returning to the roster while moves like hadoken and shoryuken are coming back to the move list. Its classic street fighter with a lot of new game play and presentation thats set to impress us and upset us at the same time. Street Fighter 4 is a very deep fighter that will take a while to master. The inclusion of ultra moves, super combos, and focus attacks help to deepen the title even further and the game play is smooth and responsive. But the game is held back from being truly awesome by hitches in the AI and online. For instance, the AI is basically on medium difficulty even on easiest. If you are a complete noob (like me) to Street Fighter, good luck winning in this game. Especially in online. If you're lucky enough to find a game thats non laggish, then your opponent is probably some cheap move spammer who probably counter picked your character. Players online are sometimes cheaper then the AI. The graphics are pretty good, and while I appreciated them, I prefer the more realistic view of Tekken or hand drawn like BlazBlue. Everyone is on steroids in SFIV. And the story isn't really great. While everyone is saying that the anime sequences are terrible, I certainly didn't find anything wrong with them. Some of them were really bad, some of them were ok, and Dan Hibiki's was hilarious. Soul Calibur 4 was horrible, even worse then the anime sequences here, so try not to complain. I really like the trial mode, and the amazing amount of unlockables that are in the game. For the newer players, the trial mode is the place to start. While the online and story aren't great, the amount of depth and fun that could be found in Street Fighter 4 is enough to keep you coming back for more. Trophy hunters will be upset about the type of trophies inside the game, but all in all, Street Fighter 4 is a game you should own.
