What a Pain in the @ss

by taker-77 Sep 19, 2009, 1:37 PM PDT

This game sucks. I wasted hours try to beat this game only to be overwhelmed in the end. Being outnumbered is sometimes fun and challenging but when it comes to Dark Kingdom its just annoying.

Precisely what the doctor, "wardered".

Beware! It isn't the easiest game to find!...
I have been gaming all my life, and while i certainly enjoy the new concepts of mirrors edge, the off-the-hook action of Call of Duty 4 & Battlefield games online, and the customizables of in depth rpgs like fallout and oblivion, it's rather the (almost careless) hack-n-slashers like the Gauntlet series that have strongly appealed to me the most. Despite the few minor problems I faced with ULDK (the camera that glitches near tall objects, to name one), I personally enjoy the game play. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the simpler things in video gaming. Thanks to my late discovery of it (in summer 2009 - I didn't own a ps3 at or around launch), I was able to pick it up rather cheaply. The minor impact on my wallet, and the fascinating simplicity of this game makes me thirsty for a deadbeat recreation of Gauntlet; one less involving than seven sorrows, where I don't have to think much but still allows me to upgrade my characters looks, abilities, and weapons. But until that happens (which will be virtually never, because games these days have to be dripping in production value and cinematic BS, even when not necessary - hey, it's ALL about money any more, isn't it? It has to appeal to the age group buying the stuff), I will have UNTOLD LEGENDS!

Need more games of this genre but not with camera work like this

by NahsiK Jun 16, 2009, 11:28 PM PDT

I bought this game at launch for my girlfriend and I to play. There are many pro's and con's to this game. The camera work on two player co-op is horrible. The camera work on the single player campaign needs help too. The graphics are cool, story sucks but who really cares about story in hack & slash games? Needs support from Sony in the form of patch updates or something. Seems as though they've forgetten about this game. I sold it a few months after launch but bought it again for $13 on Amazon.com recently 'cause it seemed like the right price for this title. Online play has been disabled by Sony for lack of players I suspect. I loved Baldur's Gate series and hope part three gets produced. We need more games of this genre.

Meh.... Not impressed

by Twizztedzombie Jan 7, 2009, 1:32 PM PST

Man, I have to tell ya, Im soooo disapointed I was in love with my PS2 RPG games, Baulders Gate 1 & 2 , Champions of Norrath 1 & 2 provided me and my friends countless hours of fun . I am shocked to see that there is little challenge to this game, the drops for armor and things of that nature are slow and uneventufl most of the armor you pick up doesnt even change how you look. So really there is nothing special or cool about this game that makes me want to play it, a HUGE disapointment as it is the ONLY multiplayer game where you dont have to be online to play it, RPG wise that is. Come on you guys, lets get more of the PS2 type games where you dont have to be online to play multiplayer. PS3 is suckin for me because of this, I have a friggin computer to play people online. I should have gotten an X box! PFTTT
