FFXI anyone?

by BboyMACH3 Feb 9, 2010, 1:36 AM PST

I have been playing this game for a few days now. All I want to say is that the gameplay online is very much like FFXI but with only 4 people. I wish it was a few more people but it's still a good game so far... I think I'll be playing it for a while

Great game . Bashing BEGONE!

A Little Word On Others:

Most people have "forgotten" what an RPG even is when it was reviewed. Many sites such as IGN and Gamespot gave terrible reviews and if i coulld give their "reviews" a review I would give them a 1 out of 10. Their minds are polluted with FPS such as COD and UK Action RPGs such as Borderlands, Oblivion, and Fallout. They seem to be reviewing the game "offline".

Review:

Gameplay -
Now for my review, White Knight Chronicles has a unique system of gameplay very similar to FF11, you could think of it as an mmorpg with a solid combo system. Players are able to take their skills and chain them into a combo of their choice, giving them more free will. Playing a game such as this one will seem to be lacking offline, and even boring.

Online Gameplay-
The only flaw here is the online objectives and quests, most i've played so far are mostly task oriented and can sometimes get frustrating but what is a game without a challenge =p. Online portion of this game will keep one occupied for at least 200 hours, not only being kept occupied, you will be enjoying every last bit of it. Playing and cooperating with others to take down massive sized trolls and beasts will prove to be an excellent expierence.

Graphics-
The graphics of this may look a little dated, but the wide variety of monster design and environmental designs are great. Also the lip-syching, since this was a japanese import originaly characters are known to talk and voice not be in sych with one another. Nothing else needs to be said really.

Story-
The story is average, pretty predictable, and forgetable. If you're just looking for a great story this may not be for you, looking at this title it relies more on "Online gameplay" Like Phantasy Star Universe, story is forgetable and sometimes boring.

Conclusion:

Gameplay: 9 out of 10

Graphics: 8 out of 10

Story: 7 out of 10

Overall - 8 out of 10

PS3's first fun Online JRPG in my opinion a decent buy.

I HAVE WAITED FOREVER FOR A FREAKING RPG!!!!

by artech7 Feb 8, 2010, 6:38 PM PST

This game is a great RPG . Especially considering that the RPG drought has been killing me, I can finally do some gaming without running and gunning everywhere! The combat system and level up is nice!

Gameplay- 5/5
Story 4/5
Graphics 3/5
online 5/5

I just wish they did the lip sync, but nothing i'm worried about.

If you are looking for an RPG (especially a JRPG) then this is your game!

I'm getting quite bored with FPS... I can actually have a game that O can play for more than 6 hours without having already beaten it.

Thank You Level 5!
Thank You Sony!

Love it...

by Monetary Feb 8, 2010, 5:35 PM PST

Outstanding game. This game combines elements of many distinct game types. I can seamlessly jump from the main story... to upgrading my stats and weapons.. to working on my homeplace.. to doing a solo quest...to doing a multiplayer quest on-line.. to just surfing the Georama websites and homeplace rooms.. to just ginding to get materials for everthing. Got it just in time for the great snowstorm that hit the east coast. Been playing it all weekend andtoday. More snow is on the way....yippy ki yay. Can't wait. Seriously been thinking about cancelling my WOW account after about almost three years of continous play. Great game..nomally I hate cut scences in games and I hate animie but I am just digging this game!! Love the cut scences, love the characters, love the simple but "fairy-tale" like story line. Flows like a Hans Christian Anderson story.
If you like RPG this is a must have for your game collection.
