An OK game

by driver4_ Nov 16, 2009, 12:16 PM PST

I had fun getting the trophies for this game. Even though I got all the trophies, I still play because it's fun to mess around with music and control Rob, the guy you could control. It's worth the $3.

cool, but somewhat of a let down

Let me first say that I absolutely adored Linger in Shadows. As such, I was really excited for .deTuned. While it's fun to play with for a bit, I don't really see a need to revisit it after getting all the trophies. It's too bad, because it seems like a missed opportunity.

The various audio filters are definitely fun to play with, but a center/vocal remover, stereo field inverter, and 24-bit/96khz upscaling filter (like Creative's Xmod does) would have kept me in the game longer just to keep hearing different 'mixes' of songs I liked. It also would have been nice if I could have inserted a CD into the PS3 and had the game detect/rip it automatically.

The background animations and characters don't seem to move in any way that's related to the music. It's definitely looks really cool, but once you've seen it for a bit, there's no reason to keep trying new songs to see how the background/characters react.

All in all, it's still worth it for the money because of the easy trophies, one of which is a gold. If you don't care about trophies, I would skip it until they add a little more content.

Can't wholly recommend, try Linger in Shadows, flOw, or Flower instead.

Better than than Linger in Shadows..?

Havent quite made a definite call if this is a better title than LIS but from the small time I have played it I think I will replay this more than I will LIS...Still playing with control functions as the ingame "manual' is a bit vague and you have to constantly pause or stop to figure out what, how and if you can repeat actions..Interesting title and price isnt too bad.....

Can't recommend it

I downloaded it and installed it, now it's just sitting there with a blank screen. (Yes, my other games work).

Fun!
