The Definitive WipEout of this generation!

The first and only WipEout title I ever played before was on the Nintendo 64. Almost 10 years later, I was ecstatic to hear that a fully high-definition entry into the WipEout series was released for sale. Knowing it was only available through the PlayStation Network, I ran out and bought myself a PS3.
I was not disappointed. After purchasing a PS3 and the budget-priced game, I was rewarded with countless hours of anti-gravity fun. I feel that every cent of the $558.73 from my wallet was justified. Studio Liverpool and Sony Computer Entertainment have a game on their hands that stands tall in the crowd of titles available for the system.
It is extremely easy to see that a lot of hard work and dedication was put forth into crafting this game. With the push of every button and the sight of every screen, I can tell that the developers really cared about making the best possible experience they could. With 1080p visuals at 60 fps, a 5.1 channel digital soundtrack and a custom playlist option, simple and great online and offline multiplayer, and tight, natural controls, WipEout HD is a true winner and deserves a download.
I enjoy being able to hop in for a few quick races or sitting down and competing in a session of tournaments. The only thing I could possibly ask for is the addition of more tracks. Sixteen (8 forward and 8 reverse) will surely be enough to hold your attention for quite some time, but I would gladly open my wallet for some new environments to frequent.
If you feel like you're missing something when playing other racing games or driving simulators, give this game a try. You'll be speeding around and annihilating your opponents in no time. And though it's not required, WipEout HD is a great way to show off any HDTV and the power of the PS3's cell processing.
Buy it. You'll be glad you did!
