Parental Controls
Everything the kids want, nothing you don't
In addition to ratings systems-like the Entertainment Software Rating
Board (ESRB) rating system for games, and the Motion Picture Association of
America (MPAA) ratings for movies — the PSP® system offers hardware security settings to make a parent's job easier.
The PSP® system's parental controls allows parents to restrict the playback of UMD™ (Universal Media Discs).
Once the parental controls are set, the PSP system will only allow UMD game or video content with an appropriate level to
be played. The parental controls setting can only be changed with the system password and also applies to downloaded
video content that supports parental control.
In addition, the PSP® system also offers an Internet Browser Start Control. This control restricts use of the
PSP® system's Internet browser by requiring a password to start it.
Trend Micro Web Security for the PSP® system is a service that blocks harmful, fraudulent and other malicious sites
on the Internet, especially those likely to be inappropriate for children and families.
