Been there. Done that.

Pros: Good graphics, interesting characters, and good battle system layout.

Cons: Forces excessive level grinding, repetitive music/monsters, boring/mazelike dungeons.

Crimson Gem Saga has good ideas but falls short. The graphics look nice and crisp and storyline is fairly good. I like the wheel battle command layout making it different from the standard vertical cell bars.
However, you have to do alot of level grinding in dungeons just to get powerful enough to hold up againt bosses and advance monsters in storlyine. I spent probably 15 out of the 40 hours just level grinding. You will see alot of the same monsters over and over again making for some boring grinding.
The biggest problem I had with the game was the maze like dungeons. Dungeons are in loop design where you can find yourself back at beginning of game if you take a wrong turn.
Lastly, the puzzles are not clear on how to solve them. I found myself looking online to figure out how to solve them.
In conclusion, if like old school turn base RPGs and level grinding then this game is for you. If not, look elsewhere.

It is a best game because when I received the Crimson Gem Saga in my hands, and then I played this game for a while....oh my gosh....I can't stop to play the game! Even, I did not play other the video games on PSP, because I want to focus and play this game until to see what was happen the story in the end. I am really enjoy and loved it! (Smile)

ATLUS publishes some interesting titles

by Trafalgar42 Jun 3, 2009, 2:33 PM PDT

I'm definitely looking forward to this particular title. I'm a huge fan of great RPGs and I'm sure that CGS will not disappoint. My biggest wish of all? For Sony to publish the game as UMD and as Download from PSN. Listen up marketing folks, having this as a download would have meat a sale RIGHT NOW!
