Brilliant to bring back.. but only for PSP?

by MarquisGitan Sep 7, 2009, 8:53 AM PDT

I am personally overjoyed that this game has been re-released. My biggest problem is that I don't own a PSP, and since this is the only game I would use the PSP for, I am not about to buy one. I'm hoping for it to be released as a download on the Playstation store. Kudos to Sony for bringing back a classic.

Final Fantasy is a classic role playing game that received a few new features that make it a worth wile experience. Though the game remains largely unchanged, features like saving can be great. It's not just saving in certain areas or at one point, it's anywhere. Being a perfect reflection of the original, things get hard... and quick. Saving saves your bum when things turn sour. Another feature is the auto target. Originally you couldn't do so. You had to pick enemies with care in an attack because if the enemy was destroyed before all the warriors acted, they'd hit nothing.
New dungeons and challenges await as well. With these are secret weapons and gear, as well as a slew of cameo bosses from others in the later series.
There's no real story. All you do is get this, take it to that, and class change here, but don't be afraid. It's no different now. There's just less dialog along the way.
Overall its a game to pick up and play where ever you go.

I thought this was the same as the original ..

by Stikwyrm Jan 6, 2009, 8:24 AM PST

.. but it's not. They added a few areas, but I was looking for a new way to play the original. Oh well, if you don't care about that you'll love the game .. I just thought that was the point of re-releasing older games. I don't feel like going to a pawn shop to buy a NES and then going on ebay to hunt down a NES Final Fantasy game just to play the original title if I could just as easily play it on my PSP ....
