An Inside Look at THE Best NBA Game

by RPEBRONCOS May 9, 2009, 8:32 AM PDT

This game is so much better than NBA 09(shown below on previous screen.) NBA 09 The Inside is a fantastic experience. An in-depth franchise mode is only a small part of this game. There are many minigames, including: pinball,alley-oop, hot shooter, and more. I know that the details on this page say there is no infrasture mode, but there is, and you can play almost any of the minigames along with your regular game of basketball. These are nice, but my favorite modes in NBA09 The Inside are conquest and elimquest. In conquest, every team in the NBA starts in their home city, and travels to conquer other cities. If you win in an opposing city, that city and all of its players are yours. Lose on the road, and the other team takes your A+ player and gives some useless piece of junk in return. Elimiquest is the same, only there are power-ups, like in the Backyard Sports series. Finally, this game has roster updates. Every now and then, there will be updated rosters available online for download. The only tiny flaw on the game is that the graphics aren't their sharpest, and while the crowd screams and cheers, they never move. Aside from that, this game is just about perfect. Now get of that PC and BUY THIS GAME!

NBA 09 takes the crown

by KraZer381 Dec 6, 2008, 10:29 PM PST

General:

This year NBA 09 takes the crown as the best NBA sim for the psp. The game has a lot of mini games ranging from games like h-o-r-s-e to dodge ball , and this year the game has a fully functioning 25 year franchise that allows you to choose a team and take them to the top.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is also great to when you shoot the ball a halo appears around the ball and you must try to release the shot when the halo is green because there will be more of a chance of the jumpshot going in, this makes timing important and adds skill to shooting. There are crossovers but its not that useful since these only one animation for a crossover. When you use it you kind of loose control of your character and sometimes will go out of bounds by accident this is definitely not a big issue but makes using the crossover a little risky.

Graphics & presentation:
The graphics are very smooth and clean, though the player faces arent that great the graphics are solid the court is nicely detailed and the crowd brings a lot of energy and life games even though they look like cardboard cutouts. The commentators are pretty good but after a while your gonna get bored of hearing the same lines over and over again but they bring the energy when they need to. The menus have also been changed they are much more organized and neat this year soo navigating though the many game modes and mini games isn't a pain anymore.

Conclusion:

NBA 09 may have its flaws but the good things it does this year definitely outweigh the flaws, and to seal the deal 09 also offers infrastructure and weekly roster updates so you can keep up with the latest trades and transactions in the NBA. overall this is definitely the first option for a psp b-ball game and a must buy for fans of b-ball games.
