Good Choice For Turn Based And WH40K Fans.

by Cpl_Kendall Nov 24, 2008, 2:23 PM PST

This is the game that prompted my purchase of a PSP, being a fan of both turn based strategy and the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The game features a nice selection of Space Marine units and weapons as well as destructible terrain. Each of the 16 missions took me about an hour to complete and they were varied enough that I didn't get bored on my first play through.

Fans of the Ultramarines and Grey Knights will rejoice (as these are the two Marine units featured in the SP campaign). Unfortunately the opportunities to access the heavier support options such as the Dreadnought and Land Raider are few and far between, and the lack of a meltagun option is a stickler.

For folks who aren't already familiar with the WH40K universe the cut scenes aren't going to do much to explain things for you. Seemingly a collection of ridiculous sayings in video format. And for those looking for multiplayer, well...there aren't many people to play against in my experience.

All in all it's a solid title for fans of the genre but I wouldn't recommend it for newcomers.
