Version Information

From the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system main menu screen, press the Triangle Btn button in the main menu to display the Version Information screen. This screen displays version information for various components and allows you to change some optional settings.

To use the Version Information screen options:

  1. Turn on the PlayStation®2 to display the main menu and press Triangle Btn.

  2. Select one of the following options and press Triangle Btn to display the current setting for the item:
    • Console
      Set the Diagnosis setting:
      • On: The PlayStation®2 automatically adjusts its internal settings for optimal playback.
      • Off (default): The automatic adjustment option is turned off.
    • PlayStation®2 Driver
      Set the PlayStation®2 driver program to optimize performance of PlayStation®2 format discs by setting:
      • Disc Speed: Set to Standard (default) to load discs at normal speed or Fast to load discs as higher speed.
      • Texture Mapping: Set to Standard (default) to display images normally or Smooth to display images with reduced roughness.
    • DVD Player
      Turn on the Progressive setting when the necessary equipment is not connected.
      • No (default): Leaves the progressive scan setting on.
      • Yes: Turns the progressive scan setting off.

  3. With the option still selected, press X Btn to display the available options.

  4. Select the desired setting and press X Btn.
