To create a network configuration using a dial-up connectionBack to top
You will need to know specific information about your Internet Service
Provider (ISP) before proceeding. You will need to know:
The name of your ISP
Your login ID
Your password
Your primary dial-up number
Your secondary dial-up number
Using the on-screen keyboard, enter a name for your new network
configuration and press . This name
should represent where or how you will use this connection, for
example, "home," "office," or "modem."
When asked whether you subscribe to an ISP, select YES and
press .
Highlight Dial-up Connection (Modem) and press .
Read the notices and press to continue.
Highlight your ISP from the list of ISPs and press
. If your ISP is not on the list,
select OTHER.
To complete your network configuration using an AOL account you will
need to know your AOL screen name and password.
Using the on-screen keyboard, enter your AOL screen name and password,
verify the password, and press .
Enter your area code and press .
If your phone service requires any special dialing options, for example,
connecting to an outside line or call waiting, select Yes and press
, otherwise select No and press
.
Highlight whether you are from the United States or Canada and press
. The Network Adaptor Start-up Disc
will dial to obtain an AOL Access Number.
Using the directional buttons on the DUALSHOCK®2 analog
controller, select your Primary AOL Access Number and press
.
Using the directional buttons on the DUALSHOCK®2 analog controller,
select your Secondary AOL Access Number and press
.
Highlight whether you need to modify these phone numbers and press
.
The network adaptor will test the network configuration.
Once a connection has been established, press to save to your
memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2). If you cannot establish a
network connection, please see information on
Troubleshooting.
You will be prompted to choose your ISP access phone number; make your
selection and press .
Based upon your previous selection, enter or select your primary access
phone number and press .
Enter or select your secondary access phone number and press
.
Make any necessary dialing option adjustments to your ISP access phone
numbers and press .
Using the on-screen keyboard, enter your user ID and password, verify
the password, and press .
The network adaptor will test the network configuration.
Once a connection has been established, press to
save to your memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2). If you cannot

Other ISPs
Using the on-screen keyboard, enter your primary dial-up access number
and press .
Enter your secondary dial-up access number and press .
Make any necessary dialing option adjustments.

Select either Automatic Settings (Cable or DSL) or Manual Settings

Select whether your ISP requires a user ID and password: (Generally,
DSL providers will require a user ID and password and Cable providers
will not.)
If required, enter a user ID and password, verify the password,
and press .
If a user ID and password are not required, indicate whether
you need to enter a DHCP Host Name (this information can be
obtained from your ISP). Enter the information and press
.
The network adaptor will test the connection.
Once a connection has been established, press to

Manual Settings (Static IP Addressing)
You will need to know specific information about your ISP before
proceeding. You will need to know:
IP Address
Netmask
Default Router Address
Primary DNS Address
Secondary DNS Address
Using the on-screen keyboard, enter the required information.
Highlight Enter and press .
The network adaptor will test the connection.
