PlayStation®2 30000 - 50000 Series / Network Adaptor

Connecting to a DSL or Cable Modem

To connect the network adaptor (Ethernet/modem) (for PlayStation®2) directly to a DSL or cable modem:

1. Install the network adaptor in the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment. For instructions, see Installing the Network Adaptor.
2. Remove the sticker covering the network connector on the network adaptor and plug an Ethernet network cable (100Base-TX or 10Base-T) in the connector labeled "NETWORK".
   
3. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the DSL or cable modem.
4. Plug the AC power cord for the PlayStation®2 into a working electrical outlet.
5. Turn on the system and load the Network Adaptor Start-up Disc came with the network adaptor.
6. Register the network adaptor. See Register the network adaptor.
7. Create a network configuration. See Create a network configuration.

   NOTE: The DSL or cable modem must provide a RJ-45 Ethernet network connector. Modems that only provide USB connectors cannot be directly connected to the PlayStation®2 system.
