PlayStation®2 30000 - 50000 Series / Network Adaptor

Connecting to a Network Cable

You can connect the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system to a network via the NETWORK connector on a network adaptor installed in the PlayStation®2 system.

To connect the network adaptor (Ethernet/modem) (for PlayStation®2) with a network cable:

  1. Install the network adaptor in the PlayStation®2. For instructions, see Installing the Network Adaptor.
  2. Remove the sticker covering the network connector on the network adaptor and plug a network (Ethernet) cable in the connector labeled "NETWORK".
  3. Plug the AC power cord for the PlayStation®2 into a working electrical outlet.
  4. Turn on the system and load the Network Adaptor Start-up Disc came with the network adaptor.
  5. Register the network adaptor. See Register the network adaptor.
  6. Create a network configuration. See Create a network configuration.

  • Normal telephone lines
  • The digital jack of an ISDN (digital) compatible public phone
  • PBX (LAN transmitter) phone lines
