PlayStation®2 30000 - 50000 Series / Network Adaptor

Connecting to a Wireless Router

If running network cables through the house isn't convenient, you might want to set up a wireless network using a wireless router.

To connect the network adaptor (Ethernet/modem) (for PlayStation®2) to a wireless router:

  1. Install the network adaptor in the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. For instructions, see Installing the Network Adaptor.
  2. Remove the sticker covering the network connector on the network adaptor and plug an Ethernet network cable in the connector labeled "NETWORK".
  3. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable to a wireless Ethernet bridge.
  4. Connect the WAN port of the wireless router to the DSL or cable modem.
  5. Connect a personal computer to the router. Use a web browser on the PC to set up the router to access the Internet.
  6. Plug the AC power cord for the PlayStation®2 into a working electrical outlet.
  7. Turn on the system and load the Network Adaptor Start-up Disc came with the network adaptor.
  8. Register the network adaptor. See Register the network adaptor.
  9. Create a network configuration. See Create a network configuration.
