Turning On and Off

Turn on and off the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system with just a touch.


To turn on the PLAYSTATION®3

Touch the power button on the system for two seconds or longer.

To turn off the PLAYSTATION®3

Touch the power button on the system for two seconds or longer.

OR

Press the PS button on the controller.
Press and hold down the PS button for two seconds or longer. When the message "Turn off the system" is displayed on the screen, select it and then press the Setting Icon button.

Note: Check that the system is in standby mode (power indicator red) before turning it off using the main power switch on the system rear. If you turn off the system using the main power switch while the power indicator is green, it may cause the system to malfunction.
