Using the On-Screen Keyboard

For entering text, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system's on-screen keyboard is convenient and easy to use.

List of keys

Keys that are displayed vary depending on the input mode and other conditions.


Keyboard keys
Function

Enter Key
Inserts a line break.

Left Key Up Key Down Key Right Key
Move the cursor.

Backspace Key
Delete the character to the left of the cursor.

Space Key
Inserts a space.

Input Key
Switches the input mode.

Enter Key
Confirms characters that have been typed but not entered, and exits the keyboard.

To enter characters

In predictive mode, entering the first few letters of a word will bring up a list of commonly used words that start with the letters. Use the directional buttons to select the word. After entering text, select the Enter key to exit the keyboard.

Input mode types depend on the system language selected.

Hint: Set the system language by going to Setting Icon (Settings) System Setting Icon (System Settings) "System Language".
Example: If "System Language" is set to "Français", enter text in French.


Using a USB keyboard

You can enter characters using a USB keyboard (sold separately).

Hint: You cannot use the predictive mode when using a USB keyboard.
