Connecting to Internet/Wireless
Troubleshooting Ad Hoc Mode
Ad Hoc Mode allows multiple PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) systems to
communicate with each other within a limited range. For example, if you want
to play a game against someone else with a PSP® in the same room, use the
Wireless (WLAN) network Ad Hoc Mode. For set up instructions, see
Setting up Ad Hoc Mode.
If you are having problems setting up or running a WLAN in Ad Hoc Mode:
- Make sure the WLAN switch on the left side of the PSP® is turned
on.
- If you are unable to play an online game in Ad Hoc Mode, make sure
there are two or more PSP® systems with the same game located in
the general vicinity.
- Make sure that all of the PSP® systems are using the automatic
default settings or set to the same channel for communication.
- Make sure you don't have any active devices located nearby that might
interfere with a wireless signal, such as:
- 2.4 gigahertz cordless phones
- Bluetooth wireless devices
- Microwave ovens
- Fluorescent lighting
- High powered audio equipment
- TV sets or computer monitors
- Electronic insect "zappers"
- Any other electronic equipment that may produce Radio Frequency
(RF) interference
