Battery Pack Troubleshooting

  • Make sure the AC adaptor is properly inserted in the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and that the AC power cord is properly inserted in a working electrical outlet.
  • Make sure the AC adaptor for this product is being used.
  • Make sure the AC adaptor is clean. If not, wipe it with a dry, soft cloth.


  • Make sure the wireless (WLAN) network function is not in use while charging. The battery pack cannot be recharged when the WLAN function is being used.


  • If you are charging the battery pack in an extremely cold location, it might take longer to charge.
  • There might be a problem with the battery pack. Try using a replacement battery pack of the same type.

  • When using the PSP® in extremely hot or cold locations, the charge might not last as long.
  • There might be a problem with the battery pack. Try using a replacement battery pack of the same type.
  • Keep in mind that the length of a charge on the battery pack can vary according to how you use your PSP®. For example, using the WLAN feature will quickly use up a lot of power.

  • Battery power is used even when the PSP® is turned off. Charge the battery pack frequently and remove the battery pack from the PSP® when it is not in use for extended periods of time.
