If there is no sound when the buttons are pressed: Back to top


Make sure the Key Tone feature is turned on. For more information, see Using Sound.

If the PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system or the AC adaptor is warm: Back to top


During use, the PSP® or AC adaptor can become warm. This is normal.

The PSP® does not function properly: Back to top


Static electricity and other similar occurrences may affect the PSP® operation. Remove the battery pack and AC adaptor and wait 30 seconds, then reassemble and restart.

If the date and time are reset: Back to top


If the battery pack is not recharged and runs out, or if the battery pack is replaced, the PSP® date and time settings might be reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to set the time and date.

If you forgot your password: Back to top


You can restore the PSP® to the default factory settings to reset the password to 0000. To restore the settings:

  1. Highlight (System Settings) under (Settings) from the home menu, and press X Button.
  2. Select Restore Default Settings and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If you restore the settings to reset the password, other settings will also be lost. Once these settings are lost, they cannot be recovered and you will have to manually set them again.
