Playing UMD� Movies

To start a UMD™ (Universal Media Disc) Movie disc on your PSP® system: Back to top


  1. Select Video Icon (Video) from the home menu.
  2. Insert a UMD™ Movie disc.

UMD Movie Disc

  1. After the UMD™ icon appears, select it and press X button.
  2. The thumbnail for the movie will appear.
  3. Select the icon of the movie and press X button.

Note: If Parental Icon (Parental Control) is displayed with a disc, access is restricted by the Parental Control Level feature. To access the disc, enter the password using the directional buttons.

  1. While a video is playing, press Triangle button at any time to display the video control panel.
  2. Select one of the action icons and press X button. For example, to pause playback, select the Pause icon and press X button.
  3. To clear the video control panel, press the Triangle button or Circle button buttons.

Note: The action icons in the video control panel vary depending on whether you are viewing UMD™ video or video stored on a Memory Stick Duo™.
