Under (Music) in the PSP®
(PlayStation® Portable) system home menu, the following icons are
displayed:
UMD™
Play UMD™
(Universal Media Disc) MUSIC. This icon will only appear when a
UMD™ MUSIC disc is inserted. If you select the icon, a thumbnail
will display.
Memory Stick
Play music/audio
saved on a Memory Stick Duo™. This icon will appear only when a
Memory Stick Duo™ is inserted.
While you are using the PSP® (PlayStation® Portable)
system to listen to music or other audio content, the buttons on the
front of the PSP® function as follows:
BUTTON

L button
Play the current
track from the beginning. Press the button again to scroll back through
the tracks.
R button
Play the next
track. Press the button again to scroll forward through the tracks.
Display or hide
the control panel.
Play a track or
confirm a choice.
Stop a track, go
back to the previous screen or exit a function.
Play or
fast-forward/fast-reverse playback.
Display
information about the track or stop fast-forward/fast-reverse.
Pause or start
playback.

During music/audio playback,
information about the track is displayed on screen. Different areas of
the screen tell you different information such as album name, track
name, track number/total number of tracks. See the information on the
screen below for more details.
Under (Settings) in the home menu, select (Sound Settings) to access the following settings:
AVLS Turn on or off the Automatic Volume Limiter System
feature, which limits the maximum volume. For more information, see Using Sound.
Key Tone Turn the key tone feature on or off, setting whether
the PSP® makes a confirmation sound when you press a button. For
more information, see Using Sound.
