Installing Your PlayStation® Using an RFU Adaptor

To install your PlayStation® game console (models 5501, 7001, 7501 & 9001) using an RFU adaptor:

  1. Connect the cables

Connect the flat end of the RFU adaptor to the AV MULTI OUT connector on the back of the PlayStation®.

  • Connect the other end of the RFU adaptor, labeled RF OUT, to the cable connector on the back of your TV. This is where you ordinarily connect your coaxial cable for an antenna, cable TV, or VCR.

Then plug the coaxial cable that usually connects to the back of your TV into the ANT input on the RFU adaptor.

  • Set the RFU adaptor switch to either channel 3 or 4, whichever channel is not used for TV in your area.

  • Connect the AC power cord to the PlayStation® console.

  • Plug it into a working electrical outlet.

  1. Start the console

Press the on/standby/RESET button on the front of the console. Make sure the indicator light turns green.

  • Press the open button, insert a PlayStation® disc into the PlayStation®, and close the cover.

  1. Set up the TV

    Turn on your TV.

  • Set your TV to the same channel as the RFU adaptor switch setting, either channel 3 or 4.

  • Press the TV/Video button on your TVs remote control. The TV/Video button might also be called the Input, AUX, or Line button on your remote. Use the setting you would if you were going to watch a movie.

NOTE: You might need to set your TV to channel 00, 90, 91, or 92.
