GameDay 2001
Access the Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2) from the main menu before a game or from the season, tournament, or general manager menu after a game. The option to delete your files, rename your files and switch between memory card slots one and two can be found here.
Saving your Season
(requires 108KB of memory)
Highlight "Save Game Data" and press "X". You will be prompted to enter a name for your save file. Press Up/Down on the D-Pad to change the characters and Left/Right on the D-Pad to switch between characters. Press "X" when you are finished to bring up a screen that asks, "Do you want to save?" Highlight yes and press "X" to save your season.
Saving your In Game Options

Highlight "Save Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Save In Game Options" and press "X". You will be prompted to enter a name for your save file. Press Up/Down on the D-Pad to change the characters and Left/Right on the D-Pad to switch between characters. Press "X" when you are finished to bring up a screen that asks, "Do you want to save?" Highlight yes and press "X" to save your in game options.
Saving your Playbook

Once you have finished customizing your playbook, choose Load/Save from the Play Editor to reach the memory card screen. Highlight "Save Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Playbook" and press "X". You will be prompted to enter a name for your save file. Press Up/Down on the D-Pad to change the characters and Left/Right on the D-Pad to switch between characters. Press "X" when you are finished to bring up a screen that asks, "Do you want to save?" Highlight yes and press "X" to save your playbook.
Saving your Controller

Highlight "Save Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Controller" and press "X". You will be prompted to enter a name for your save file. Press Up/Down on the D-Pad to change the characters and Left/Right on the D-Pad to switch between characters. Press "X" when you are finished to bring up a screen that asks, "Do you want to save?" Highlight yes and press "X" to save your user records.
Loading your Season
Highlight "Load Game Data" and press "X". You will be taken to a screen allowing you to select which Gameday 2001 season you would like to load. Highlight the season of choice and press "X". You will automatically be taken to the season menu. Select "Play Game" to proceed with your season play.
Loading your In Game Options
Highlight "Load Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Load In Game Options" and press "X". You will be taken to a screen allowing you to select which Gameday 2001 options you would like to load. Highlight the save file of choice and press "X".
Loading your Playbook
To do more editing:
Enter the Play Editor menu from the main menu. Choose the team you would like to load the playbook for, then choose "Edit Playbook". Highlight "Load/Save" and press X to reach the memory card screen. Highlight "Load Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Load Playbook" and press "X". Highlight the save file of choice and press "X". Press triangle to return to the Play Editor.
To use during gameplay:
For Season, Tournament and General Manager play:
You cannot do this from the memory card screen that you access on the main menu. You must enter a season/tournament/general manager and access the Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation 2) from their specific menus. Highlight "Load Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Load Playbook" and press "X". You will be taken to a screen allowing you to select which Gameday 2001 playbook you would like to load. Highlight the save file of choice and press "X".
For Preseason play:
You cannot do this from the memory card screen that you access on the main menu. Enter Preseason mode and on the team selection screen you will see the word "options" on the bottom of the screen. First, pick the team you have saved a playbook for, then highlight "options" and press "X". On the options screen, highlight "Custom Playbook" for either the home or away team (whichever your team is) and press "X".
Loading your Controller
Highlight "Load Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Load In Game Options" and press "X". You will be taken to a screen allowing you to select which Gameday 2001 options you would like to load. Highlight the save file of choice and press "X".
Saving General Manager Data
(requires 303KB of memory)
You cannot do this from the memory card screen that you access on the main menu. Enter General Manager and set up your season. As soon as you select "Play Game", you will be prompted to save your game. You must have a Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation 2) with 15 blocks of free space inserted into memory card slot 1 in order to proceed. Each time you select "Play Game" you will be asked to save your progress. You can also go into the memory card menu from the General Manager Menu to save your game. Highlight "Save GM Data" and press "X". You will be prompted to enter a name for your save file. Press Up/Down on the D-Pad to change the characters and Left/Right on the D-Pad to switch between characters. Press "X" when you are finished to bring up a screen that asks, "Do you want to save?" Highlight yes and press "X" to save your general manager data.
Loading General Manager Data
Highlight "Load Game Data" and press Left/Right on the D-Pad until you see the option "Load GM Data" and press "X". You will be taken to a showing you the block of memory with your GM Data on it. Press "X" to load the file and select "Play Game" to continue with your season.
Loading Saved Seniors from NCAA Gamebreaker 2001
You cannot do this from the memory card screen that you access on the main menu. You can only do this at the beginning of your General Manager career. Choose "General Manager" from the main menu. After you enter a coach’s name you will be asked if you would like to bypass preseason events. Select "No". Continue past the "retired players" and "expired contract" screens. After the question "Would you like to enter training camp?" which you can answer any way you like, say "Yes" when asked, "Would you like to import NCAA Gamebreaker 2001 players to draft?" This will place all your Gamebreaker 2001 graduating seniors into the draft pool.
