All Saving and Loading must be done on the Memory Card Menu, which is accessed from the Main Menu by highlighting "Memory Card" and then pressing the X button.
General Info about Saving a Game
You may save up to ten different season, playoff or tournament games to a single Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2). 124 kilobytes of free space are required the first time you save a game. 55 kilobytes are needed for each additional game file. Options and Records can also be saved, and will require another 74 kilobytes of free space. It is not possible to save in the middle of a game. The "Save Game" can only be done between the games of an ongoing Season, Playoff or Tournament. Exhibition and Practice modes are played for one game only, and cannot be saved.
To save a Season, Tournament or Playoff game:
• When you return to the Main Menu between games, scroll to "Memory Card" and press the X button.
• Press Up or Down on the D-pad to highlight "Save Game" and press the X button.
• On the "Save Game" screen, scroll Up or Down on the D-pad to select the memory card slot you wish to save to; either slot 1 or slot 2.
• Now you must name the file that you're about to save. Scroll Right or Left on the D-pad to scroll through the letters of the alphabet. When the first letter you want appears in yellow, press the X button to move onto the the second letter.
• Press the square button to delete the previous letter.
• Repeat this until the desired name appears in yellow letters. Then press the Circle button to enter that name. When you are asked to confirm, press the X button to do begin saving.
• If there is already saved game data with the same name stored on the selected memory card, you will be asked if you want to "Overwrite" that data. Overwriting is the same as updating. If you want to replace the old saved data with the current saved data, then press the X button to overwrite the file.
• After saving, press the Triangle button to return to the Memory Card Menu.
To load a Season, Tournament or Playoff game:
• From the Main Menu between games, scroll to "Memory Card" and press the X button.
• Press Up or Down on the D-pad to highlight "Load Game" and press the X button.
• On the "Load Game" screen, you will automatically view the contents of Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation 2) that's in memory card slot 1. Scroll Left or Right on the D-pad to view the contents of the card in memory card slot 2.
• Scroll up or down with the D-pad to select the name of the file you want to load. When the file name you want to load appears in yellow, press the X button to begin loading. .
• After loading, press the Triangle button to return to the Memory Card Menu.
To save records:
• From the Main Menu, scroll to "Memory Card" and press the X button.
• Press Up or Down on the D-pad to highlight "Save Records" and press the X button.
• On the "Save Records" screen, scroll Up or Down on the D-pad to select the memory card slot you wish to save to; either slot 1 or slot 2.
• Press the X button to save records.
• If there is already saved record data stored on the selected memory card, you will be asked if you want to "Overwrite" that data. Overwriting is the same as updating. If you want to replace the old saved records with the current records, then press the X button to overwrite the file.
• After saving, press the Triangle button to return to the Memory Card Menu.
To load records:
