Settings
Change the home menu color, background, and icons
[Theme] has been added to
(Theme Settings) under
(Settings). A theme is a collection of settings that define the home menu color, background, and icons.

Changing the theme
- Go to
(Settings) >
(Theme Settings), and then select [Theme].
- Select the theme you want to change.

A theme that has been saved in the PSP® system memory is displayed. Only one theme can be saved in the PSP® system memory. |

Hint
When a theme that is saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media is applied, it is saved in the PSP® system memory. If a theme is already saved in the PSP® system memory, a message confirming whether or not to overwrite it will be displayed.
Downloading a theme
You can download sample themes from the following links.
The Cookies theme is pre-installed in PSP-2000 series systems.
Download using a PC
- Use a PC to create a folder named "PSP" on Memory Stick Duo™ media, and then create a subfolder named "THEME" .
- Download a theme using the links above.
- Unzip the file, and then save the downloaded theme in the "THEME" subfolder

Download using a PSP™ system
- Insert the Memory Stick Duo™ media in the PSP® system.
- Start
(Internet Browser) under
(Network), and then download a theme from:
http://psp.us.playstation.com/content/PSPThemes/cookies.ptf <or> http://psp.us.playstation.com/content/PSPThemes/classypink.ptf
The required folders are automatically created.
Hints
After you have downloaded the theme, and inserted the Memory Stick Duo� media in the PSP� system, go to Step 1 under "Changing the theme" (above).
Creating your own themes
You can create your own themes and use them on your PSP® system. Instructions for creating a custom theme will be available on this site soon.
Video
Scene Search in movies
[Scene Search] has been added to the control panel for
(Video). You can display a movie file that is saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media as thumbnails created at fixed intervals. Select a thumbnail to play the desired scene.

How to use
- While a movie is playing, press the △ button.
- Select
(Scene Search) from the control panel.
- Use the up and down buttons to select the interval for displaying thumbnails.
You can select from 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, and 5 minutes.
- Select a scene, using the left and right buttons.
Playback begins from the selected point.
Hints
- You can also start Scene Search by pressing the □ button while a movie is playing.
- This function may not be available for some movies.
- You cannot use Scene Search in movie files that are less than one minute in length.
Photo
Playing music while viewing a slideshow
You can now play music at the same time as viewing a slideshow under
(Photo).
How to use
- Start playback of music under
(Music) in the home menu.
- Press the HOME or SELECT button.
The home menu will be displayed.
- Go to
(Photo), select the images or folder that you want to view in the slideshow, and then press the START button.
Hints
- If you press the HOME or SELECT button during simultaneous playback, the home menu will be displayed. You can then change the music or images.
- To quit, you must stop playing the slideshow and music separately.
Network
Assigning buttons to be used with Remote Play
[Assign Buttons] has been added to the [Remote Play] menu. You can assign PSP® system buttons to work as SIXAXIS™ wireless controller buttons (for the PS3™ system).
How to use
- Press the HOME button during remote play.
- Select [Settings] > [Assign Buttons] from the menu.
You can select from two button assignment patterns.
Video
Playing movies sequentially
[Sequential Playback] has been added to
(Video Settings) under
(Settings). Using this feature, multiple movie files saved on Memory Stick Duo Media can be played back in sequence.
