Picture Troubleshooting
If there is no picture on the screen

- Make sure the PlayStation® game console and TV are turned on and
that they are securely connected using the AV cable
(integrated audio/video) or RFU adaptor. See
PlayStation® installation
for help with set up.

- Visually check to make sure the AC power cord is not damaged.
- Make sure you have selected the correct video input and
channel on your TV or VCR.

- Make sure the disc is inserted correctly, with the label side up.
If the screen is bouncing

Some TVs and monitors have difficulty displaying games, creating a bouncing
effect. If this occurs, please contact Consumer Services.
If picture noise appears

- Make sure the PlayStation� and TV (and VCR if using one) are turned on and that they are securely connected using the AV cable (integrated audio/video) or RFU adaptor.
- Visually check to make sure the AC power cord is not damaged.
- Make sure you have selected the correct video input and channel on your TV or VCR.
- The disc might need cleaning. To clean the disc:
- Use the small, circular pads made specifically for cleaning discs sold at most music or computer software stores.
- If you do not have a cleaning pad, you can use a dry, lint-free cloth.
NOTE: Other materials, such as paper towels or a T-shirt, might
scratch the disc. If there are any scratches, smudges, or
fingerprints on the disc, it might not function properly.
- The console might be unstable. Place the console on a flat, stable surface and do not allow it to shake or vibrate.
