Installing the EyeToy® USB Camera

To install your EyeToy® USB Camera:

Make sure your PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system is properly installed. Please see PlayStation®2 70000 Series or PlayStation®2 30000-50000 Series Installation Instructions for help with set up.


  1. Connect the cables

    Holding the USB connector for the EyeToy® USB camera with the USB mark facing up, securely insert the connector into the upper or lower USB port on the front of the PlayStation®2.


  1. Start the system

    Turn on your PlayStation®2 by pressing the MAIN POWER switch on the back of the system.

    Press the open button, place your EyeToy™ software title in the tray, and press the open button again to close the tray.


  • The blue LED power indicator light on the front of the camera will light up to indicate that the EyeToy® USB Camera is ready for use.


  1. Set up the camera

    Place the EyeToy® USB Camera on top of or directly below your TV.


  • Stand back 5 to 7 feet from the TV.

    If the picture on the screen needs adjusting, rotate the manual focus ring on the front of the camera.

    Lastly, hold the camera base steady and gently tilt the camera body to position the camera so that your image is in the center of the screen.
