Connecting to a Telephone Line

You can connect to a dial-up Internet Service Provider (ISP) through a telephone line by inserting a telephone cord into the LINE connector on a network adaptor (Ethernet/modem) (for PlayStation®2) installed in the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.

To connect the network adaptor to a telephone line:

  1. Install the network adaptor in the PlayStation®2. For instructions, see Installing the Network Adaptor.
  2. Plug a modem line (telephone cord) into the left connector labeled "LINE" on the network adaptor.
  3. Plug the AC power cord for the PlayStation®2 into a working electrical outlet.
  4. Turn on the system and load the Network Adaptor Start-up Disc that came with the network adaptor.
  5. Register the network adaptor. See Register the network adaptor.
  6. Create a network configuration. See Create a network configuration.
