Under Game Icon(Game) in the PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system home menu, the following icons are displayed:



Game Sharing
Use Wireless (WLAN) Networking Ad Hoc Mode to receive game data from another PSP® system. This icon is only functional when you are playing a game that supports game sharing. For details, refer to the software manual supplied with the game.



Saved Data Utility
Copy, delete, or view information about saved game data on a Memory Stick Duo™.



UMD™
Play games. This icon will only appear when a game is inserted. If you select the icon, a thumbnail will display.



PSP® Update
Update the PSP® system software. This icon will appear only when a UMD™ (Universal Media Disc) containing update data is inserted.



Memory Stick™
Save game demos and extras or perform a system software update by accessing data saved on a Memory Stick Duo™. This icon will appear only when a memory stick is inserted.



Parental Control
Enter a password to access a game. This icon will appear only when a parental control level has been set on the game you are playing.

While you are using the PSP® to play games, the functions of the PSP® buttons vary depending on the game you are playing. See your game for details. The following are general gameplay button functions:

Switch between the different the gameplay views.


Triangle Button
Go back to the previous screen or switch between the different the gameplay views.


X Button
Confirm a choice.


Circle Button
Display information, go back to the previous screen, or exit a function.


Right Button Left Button Up Button Down Button
Directional buttons
Navigate on-screen menus and options and control gameplay.


Start Button
Start button
Start gameplay.


Home Button
Home button
Quit the game.
