Playing Music/Audio from a Memory Stick Duo™

To play a music/audio file from a Memory Stick Duo™: Back to top


  1. Highlight Music icon (Music) from the home menu.
  2. Insert a Memory Stick Duo™.
  3. Select Memory Stick icon (Memory Stick) and press X icon.
  4. Select the icon of the track or group you want to play and press X icon.
  5. While listening to audio files, press Triangle icon at any time to display the Music Control panel.

To stop playback: Back to top


  1. While a track is playing, press Circle icon.
  2. The music playback will stop.

To delete or view information about a music/audio file from a Memory Stick Duo™: Back to top


  1. Highlight Music icon (Music) from the home menu.
  2. Insert a Memory Stick Duo™.
  3. Select Memory Stick icon (Memory Stick) and press X icon.
  4. Select the icon of the track and press Triangle icon to display the options menu.
  5. Select Play or Information and press X icon.

  1. While a track is playing, press Triangle icon at any time to display the music control panel.
  2. Select one of the action icons and press X icon. For example, to skip to the beginning of the next track, select the Next Track icon and press X icon.
  3. To clear the Music Control panel, press the Triangle icon or Circle icon buttons.

Notes:
  • Music/audio files must be in the correct format in order to be played on the PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system. See " Compatible Music/Audio Formats."
  • MP3 files containing expiration dates or a limited number of playbacks cannot be played on the PSP®.
  • If you encode an audio CD into MP3 format so that it can play on the PSP®, you should set the bit rate to 128k for a good balance of sound quality and file size. If you prefer better sound quality and have more available space on your Memory Stick Duo™, set the bit rate to 192k.
    - Memory Stick PRO Duo™ cards will not play or record ATRAC3™ or ATRAC3plus™ files.
