Playing RSS Music / Audio

There are two ways to enjoy RSS (Real Simple Syndication) music / audio on your PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system. You can:

  1. Make sure your PSP® is set up for Wireless (WLAN) networking Infrastructure Mode. For more information, see Setting up Infrastructure Mode.
  2. Turn on the WLAN switch on the left side of the PSP® so that the PSP® can connect to the internet.
  3. Select RSS Channel Icon (RSS Channel) under Network Icon (Network) from the home menu and press X button.
  4. Make sure you've added the RSS channels you want to hear. For more information on adding RSS channels, see Using the RSS Channel.
  5. Select a channel from the channel list and press X button.
  6. Select a connection and press X button.
  7. The PSP® will connect to the internet and automatically begin to check for new content. If new content exists, the list will be updated to reflect new content items.
  8. Select a content item and press X button to begin streaming playback.

Notes:
  • Playback options for streaming RSS playback are the same as playback options for any other audio / music file. To view and use the playback options, press Triangle button during playback to display the control panel.
  • Depending on internet connection speed and content file size, the audio stream may pause or stop during playback.

  1. Make sure you've added the RSS channels you want to hear. For more information on adding RSS channels, see Using the RSS Channel.
  2. Make sure you've saved the RSS audio content to your Memory Stick Duo™. For more information, see Saving RSS Content to a Memory Stick Duo™.
  3. Highlight Memory Stick icon (Memory Stick) under Game icon (Game) from the home menu, and press X button.
  4. Locate the saved music / audio content in its RSS channel folder.
  5. Select a content item and press X button to begin streaming playback.
  6. Note: Playback options for saved RSS playback are the same as playback options for any other audio / music file. To view and use the playback options, press Triangle button during playback to display the control panel.


Note: PSP® online connectivity requires internet service and network devices, such as a DSL or cable modem and a wireless router - for example, a Wi-Fi hotspot at a café or a wireless local area network (WLAN) in your home.
