Keep your PSP® System Software up-to-date so your PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system will continue to evolve. Find out what's included in the most recent system software update and update yours today.

To find out the version your PSP® system software:

Select (System Settings) under (Settings) from the home menu, then select System Information.
The System Software field will display the version number of the system software installed on your PSP®.

Note: Some games and media require that you update your system software version before you can use them. If so, the required system update is often included on the UMD™ (Universal Media Disc) game disc.

If you want to save new content to your Memory Stick Duo™, it must have enough available space.

To check how much space is available on a Memory Stick Duo™:

Insert the Memory Stick Duo™ into the PSP®. For details, see Inserting and Removing a Memory Stick Duo™.
Select (Photo), (Video), or (Game) from the home menu.
Highlight (Memory Stick Duo™).
The available space on the Memory Stick Duo™ will display on-screen a s "Free Space."

Note: If there is not enough space, you might be able to delete some of the data. For more information, see Deleting Data from a Memory Stick Duo™.

When you are using your PSP® to perform operations that require saving data to or reading data from the Memory Stick Duo™, it's important that you don't run out of battery power in the middle of the operation. We recommend you fully charge the battery pack before updating the PSP® system software.
