Sending and Receiving Photos / Images

You can share photo/image files with another PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system. Simply beam photos to friends via the image transfer feature.


To send and receive Photos / Images on your PSP®:

  1. Each PSP® must have a network connection set up in Ad Hoc Mode. See Setting up Ad Hoc Mode.
  2. Turn on the WLAN switch located on the left side of each PSP®.

  3. Prepare one of the PSP® systems to receive the photo / image:
    • Select Photo icon (Photo) from the home menu.
    • Choose a location under Photo icon (Photo) and Memory Stick icon (Memory Stick) where you want to save the image and press Triangle button.
    • Select Receive and press X button.
  4. Send the photo / image from the other PSP®:
    • Select Photo icon (Photo) from the home menu.
    • Choose the photo / image you want to send and press Triangle button.
    • Select Send and press X button to display the nicknames for any PSP® systems ready to receive an image.
    • Select the PSP® prepared for receiving in step 3 and press X button to send the photo / image.
  5. Save the photo / image you've received:
    • With the image displayed on the screen, press Circle button.
    • After a confirmation message appears, select Yes and press X button to confirm.
    • The image is now saved to the Memory Stick Duo� in your PSP®.
  6. View the saved photo / image as you would any other image saved to your PSP®. See Viewing Photos / Images for details.


Notes:
  • Compatible Formats
    photo / image files must be in the correct format in order to be viewed on the PSP®. See Compatible photo / image Formats.

  • Memory Stick Duo™
    • Available Space
      The amount of data you can save to your Memory Stick Duo™ will depend on the storage capacity of the Memory Stick Duo™ (they come in various sizes) and the amount of information already saved. There must be enough available space for the files you wish to save on your Memory Stick Duo™. For information about how to check for available space, see System Check.

      If you need more room on a Memory Stick Duo™, you might be able to delete data. For details, see Deleting Data from a Memory Stick Duo™.

    • Formatting
      If this is the first time you've used the Memory Stick Duo™, you must format it for use with your PSP®. For instructions, see Formatting a Memory Stick Duo™.
    • Folder Structure
      Files must be saved in specific folders using appropriate names to be viewed on the PSP®. If you have problems accessing content, see About Memory Stick Duo™ Folder Structure.
